This is for a full-time, 6 month temporary position with potential to turn into a permanent position.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of construction trades to include welders, fitters, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, engineers, foreman, project managers, managers, and administrative positions. The Recruiter will be responsible for writing job postings, posting positions on job boards, maintaining the ATS, reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and making hiring recommendations to senior management. The recruiter position is onsite, no remote work. Hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Must be flexible to attend off site job fairs, at different hours or weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASK:

• Recruits and sources passive and active candidates
• Ability to cold call
• Writes effective job postings.
• Operates and uses ATS within Paylocity
• Screens and interviews candidates (virtually using Microsoft Teams and in person)
• Makes recommendation to senior management.
• Maintains social media platforms for recruiting.
• Establishes work referral program.
• Communicates professionally with applicants.
• Attends career fairs throughout the area to include weekends and nights.
• Meets weekly and monthly hiring goals.
• Additional administrative duties as required.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft office
• Basic knowledge of construction terminology
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
• Strong organizational skills
• Human Resources degree pref. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Ability to use upper and lower extremities.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to walk throughout the shipyard for guided tours and new hire processes.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Normal level of visual acuity needed. Must be able to understand and follow directions. Normal hearing level needed. Hand-eye coordination required.

HAZARDS: Weather, fumes, moving mechanical parts, equipment and vibration
